Chelsea will meet Burnley in their sixth fixture of the current Premier League season. The Burnley vs Chelsea fixture will be played at the home ground of Burnley, Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

This match will be the third Chelsea consecutive away game in all competitions. Chelsea will be boosted by the fact that results at the Turf Moor have been favorable having been unbeaten since 1983.

Chelsea Team News

Chelsea secured their first win of the Champions League by beating Krasnodar 4-0 in Russia. The match saw Pulisic score his first goal of the season. Hakim Ziyech, on his first full debut for Chelsea, scored his first Chelsea goal to cap an impressive display.

In the encounter, Lampard deployed two natural wingers – Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi to offer more width to the team and give Chelsea more attacking penetration.

He also played an attacking 4-3-3 formation in contrast to the 4-2-3-1 team set up he used in the fixtures against Manchester United and Sevilla. The formation gave Chelsea more defensive solidity but created an attacking issue as Chelsea were lackluster. The two matches ended in stalemates. Lampard might stick with the 4-3-3 formation for the visit to Burnley.

We expect Zouma to partner Thiago Silva, who was left out of the Krasnodar encounter to recover from fatigue. Zouma will be reaching a milestone if he plays, his 100th appearances for Chelsea.

Mason Mount might also return having seen his game time reduced in recent weeks due to a slight dip in form. It will be his 50th appearances for Chelsea if selected.

Edouard Mendy can become the first Chelsea goalkeeper since Petr Cech to keep three clean sheets in a row in the Premier League .

Chelsea currently sits on the 10th position in the Premier League table after playing six games.

Chelsea does not have any serious injury concern for this fixture.

PREDICTED LINE UP (4-3-3): Mendy, Thiago Silva, Zouma, Chilwell, Azpilcueta, Kovacic, Kante, Pulisic, Ziyech, Havertz, Werner.

Burnley news

Burnley have been struggling this season in the Premier League. They are still searching for their first win of the season. They frustratingly suffered a narrow 0-1 loss to Tottenham last weekend. A late Son goal condemned the Clarets to a defeat.

Sean Dyche’s side has all but lost their first five fixtures, with their only point coming in the 1-1 draw against Wolves. They lie in the 18th position in the table after five fixtures, having played a game less than others. Since the win against Norwich in July, Burnley has got one point out of a possible 18.

They are currently without their captain and defender, Ben Mee who has been nursing an injury for four months now. Also sidelined are their midfielder Jack Cork, winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson, full-backs Phil Bardsley, Erik Pieters.

POSSIBLE LINE UP (4-4-2): Pope, Tarkowski, Lowton, Long, Taylor; Rodriguez, Brownhill, Westwood, McNeil; Wood, Barnes.

Burnley vs Chelsea: Match verdict and prediction

Burnley is currently the lowest scoring side in the Premier League this season alongside Sheffield United. They have scored three goals apiece. Coincidentally, both teams have conceded nine goals each too.

Chelsea has also enjoyed their previous trips to the Turf Moor having won the last five of the six fixtures at the venue. In 12 matches against the Clarets, Chelsea has won 11 and lost just once.

Chelsea has scored at least two goals in each of their encounter at the stadium. The last match at the Turf Moor was a 2-4 victory for Chelsea.

Sean Dyche has lost six games, drawn three and won once against Chelsea.

Chelsea will likely win this match due to to their superior quality and number in the squad. Recent form has been decent too. Burnley has not been helped by their injury concerns depleting their matchday squad further.

Lampard will however be wary of a Burnley side that is motivated to grab their first win this season. Their dangerous use of long ball and set-pieces will tend to create havoc for the Chelsea backline. Lampard’s team usually struggles with aerial threats and set-pieces.
